When it comes to MMO based on film, we may mention some games like Fast and Furious, Terminator Salvation, TransFormers and Wanted, but there are too much such titles out there, you see the Hamburg-based publisher Bigpoint woulld roll out another blockbuster film as a browser game – The Mummy Online. The mummy is a free online action role-playing, to be published in the winter of this year.

With the official license from Universal Studios and the collabaritive development with the video game company Schell Games Pittsburgh (USA), the browser game The Mummy Online will be published exclusively by Bigpoint. The Action Browser game with adventure elements of Egypt takes you into the early 20th Century. To familiar places you will meet key figures from the popular films and fighting against mysterious creatures and other players.

“We are excited to implement this popular series of films for the global online games market,” says Heiko Hubertz, CEO and founder of Bigpoint. Unlike the previous license Play Fast and the Furious, Terminator Salvation and Wanted, The mummy will allow playes to play in a 3D enviroment using 3D Unity technology. The Online Browser Games used 3d Unity include Kalydo, FIFA Online and Earth Eternal. Thanks to the Unity technology, which is also used for Battlestar Galactica Online (Fall 2010), it is possible to play 3D games in real time directly in the browser.
